- Kelowna's Tree Brewery pairs up with local entrepreneurs for great new products -

 

September 22, 2010 (Kelowna, BC) – The trend of beer and food pairings has become increasingly popular recently, and Kelowna’s Tree Brewing has taken that passion one step further. By teaming up with a couple of BC-based entrepreneurs, Tree now has its own line of sauces and sausages to tantalize the tastebuds of any beer connoisseur. 

 

A line of Tree Brewing sauces including Tree Brewing Stoned Mustard , Beer Barrel Peach Salsa, Blasted BBQ Sauce and Hopped Pepper Jelly was created by Taste of the Okanagan Specialty Foods. Since 1995, this local company has been making jams, jellies and preserves with the finest fruits, berries and veggies grown in the Okanagan Valley, picked at their freshest. And just like Tree Brewing, they are made in small batches to ensure the finest flavour, quality and most of all taste.

 

And if October stirs up thoughts of sausages and beer (think Oktoberfest), then Tree has a tasty twist on the ordinary in store for you. Tree recently teamed up with Vancouver-based company BeerBrats, who created the Tree Brewing HopHead IPA Butter Chicken sausage. The recipes are created with the beer in the mix, so that the malt profile can be accentuated in each bite. 

 

“More and more, craft beer lovers are embracing the total meal experience, and we thought it would be a natural progression to go beyond just suggesting pairings with our beers, but to actually create some great recipes with our product as an ingredient,” says Tree Brewing President, Tod Melnyk. “Having the opportunity to work with two great local entrepreneurial companies has been really exciting, and we’re thrilled with the final products.”

 

The Tree Brewing sauces are available at the company’s brewery in Kelowna at 1083 Richter Street, and BeerBrats sausages are available at local farmers’ markets in the lower mainland, and at the brewery with plans of larger distribution in the near future.
