Hop Head Double IPA is Back

TREE BREWING TAKES THE CHILL OFF THE WINTER FREEZE WITH RETURN OF HOP HEAD DOUBLE IPA
- Kelowna–based Craft Brewer Brings Back Popular Recipe for Hop Head IPA Fans -
January 19, 2012 (Kelowna, BC) – With the weather dipping well below zero in most parts of Canada these days, Tree Brewing is encouraging craft beer fans to embrace winter and then warm up to a Hop Head Double IPA. Initially launched in 2009, Hop Head Double IPA is making its return once again after a few tweaks from award-winning brewmaster Stefan Buhl. Now in its fourth year, the Kelowna-based brewer’s popular “occasional rarity,” has received great reviews and accolades, including Gold and Bronze Medals at the Canadian Brewing Awards.
“Hop Head Double IPA has grown in popularity every year since Stefan and his team created the initial recipe four years ago,” says Tree Brewing President, Tod Melnyk. “Beer connoisseurs and craft beer lovers have come to anticipate the release of Hop Head Double IPA each year, and they’ll be able to enjoy it once again starting next week. But as always with our occasional rarity brews, there is a limited amount, so they need to get out there soon and pick it up before it’s gone.”
With five different varieties of superior hops, Hop Head Double IPA (8.3 ABV) packs in the hoppy bitterness like no other. Similar to its award-winning, best-selling little brother, Hop Head IPA, Hop Head Double IPA also boasts citrus aromas and sweet malt undertones with a slightly darker, copper colour. This strong hops taste pairs well with a flavourful meal or sweet dessert.
Hop Head Double IPA is a limited release, and will be making its way to select stores in BC, Alberta and Manitoba beginning the week of 23rd, and will be back for a second year in the Ontario market in early February as part of the LCBO’s 2012 Spring Beer Promotion.
