Here at Tree Brewing, we strongly believe in giving back to the community especially when it's going to a good cause. Our way of showing our support is by donating $2.00 from every $4.00 taproom tasting fee to a variety of thoughtfully chosen charities. We have chosen nine different charities for 2014 with all of the proceeds benefiting local chapters. These organizations have been selected by one or more of our staff members who are directly connected to each of these causes.
Here's what's coming up for 2014...
FEBRUARY-MARCH - Okanagan Boys and Girls Club
Paws it Forward Dog Rescue is a 100% non-profit organization run entirely by dedicated volunteers who offer their time and resources to house, train, transport and care for rescue dogs in need. The Okanagan-based rescue focuses their efforts on rescuing, rehabilitating and finding loving forever homes for dogs that have been owner surrendered, abused, neglected, abandoned and left in high kill shelters to die. All of their dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. They are then placed in our loving foster homes until they are adopted. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the CCFC. Through their efforts, the Foundation funds research projects, provides education programs about IBD for patients, families and the public, and increases awareness of the Foundation and IBD in general. Local volunteer groups (Chapters, Chapters in Development and Affiliates) hold monthly meetings to plan fundraising, education and awareness activities to further our mission. Volunteers can choose to take on leadership roles in the Chapter, help out as an event volunteer or simply come to the meetings to share their ideas and to gain fellowship and support by spending time with their peers.
The British Columbia/Yukon Region is home to six Chapters and three Affiliates which are locally run volunteer groups.
